What I have previously written on women’s rights
My chromosomes and bodily organs indicate that I am a male of the species. But that doesn’t restrict me from seeing reality and recognizing the widespread social prejudices against women. As a philosopher, I seek to understand the roots of prejudice and injustice. Though I was raised in a patriarchal society, I am neither blind now stupid, so I recognize that sexism is real. I side with the feminist critique of society, government, and scholarship.
I write about prejudice in general, and I have written specifically about prejudice against women. I don’t speak for women, and they don’t need me to speak for them, but I can add my voice in celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, and to urge forward the women’s rights movement.
A side note: my spouse — a female of the species — asked me to make a brief mention about the last three months of our lives. She broke her arm and has been on a slow road to recovery. I have had to take on most household duties in that time, in addition to working full-time out of the home. She wished to point out how I have a better idea of what too many women have to go through. Her observation is correct.
