As someone on my third country, I can attest that there's some good advice in this article, especially to make a list of what you want, a plan of what you need to do, and to be willing to pay for professional assistance. What I'd add is that moving to another country is not limited to the archetypal "find a cheap tropical paradise." There are many other possibilities. I moved to the UK and then to the Czech Republic and both filled my needs at the time. I think the biggest issue people need to consider is where they can legally live where they can have a secure income. If you don't have that, how cheap the place is or how nice the climate is doesn't matter :)
