Did God Block Trump’s Rally or Did Satan?

Blame and demand: a neglected dimension of political power

Ex-president Donald Trump scheduled a rally on Saturday 20 April in Wilmington North Carolina. According to reports, the event was delayed then canceled because of a storm — a storm not named “Daniels.”

It was to be the latest stop on the Trump Cult of Personality Tour. This one was slightly significant in that was scheduled on the first weekend of Trump’s first fraud trial. It was a chance for the Messiah of Mendacity to be mounted before his minions and sell more merch to the marks.

But the fickle finger of fate sent a strong storm to scatter the minions mingling to catch a glimpse of their Messiah. They were massed on the tarmac of the Wilmington airport — a big fat target for lightening and wind — and, shocking for a Trump event, good sense prevailed and the crowd was told to go home for their own safety. Trump, who apparently was not seen at the rally, claimed to be “devastated.”

Who Sent the Storm?

You might think that my question in the title is a joke. It is not. I pose the question in all seriousness.
