Good article tackling the very difficult topic that is Hegel. Good insights that we can't only look at negative freedoms (freedom from) but also at positive freedoms (freedom to) and that is why Hegel urges us to think of our relations with others. My only quibble is that I think Hegel is meaning not "to be at home in the other" as much as to be at home in the Sittlichkeit--the nation's ethical structure.
I'm curious, since you mention Hegel's concept of recognition, what you think of that as a way to achieve freedom. Hegel had a fragmentary account of it.
