As for the quote I highlighted, I think it was 1993, when the Clintons and their Democratic Leadership Council decided that corporate money was more important than working class votes. In the 30 years since, the party has lost half of all of its elected seats across all levels of government. Electoral disaster, but the party's coffers are full of corporate donations and that's what they care about.

But you are correct, it is a long and ongoing cycle, a revolving door with predictable patterns. We are heading into unknown territory, because the world is changing, we just don't yet know into what.
