Henryk, I enjoyed this article very much. You have so adroitly summed up so many issues we face in our time. The potato chip analogy is so perfect, I might just have to steal it. Just kidding, kind of. It is a great description of what passes for writing in the Memeocene: the Age of the Meme. The dumbing down of communication has a number of factors behind it, and you mention several of them. You are spot on about Rush Limbaugh's affect. I am old enough to remember the radio segments of Paul Harvey, called "The Rest of the Story." Brilliant writing and brilliant storytelling. But it was about content and meaning and people, so probably wouldn't play well today.
