I think it's fabulous that you are engaging in the project you describe. Conversations are vital for building understanding and they attract an audience of viewers who can benefit from listening. That you are talking with and listening to Black people means that you aren't doing what I call whitesplaining.
By "whitesplaining," I mean white people who don't talk to or listen to Black people, but pretend they understand. That's the point I was making with my true story of he academic group that shirked at the inclusion of a Black voice. Clearly, you aren't guilty of that.
