I agree that his focus on community is a weakness of Lyotard's philosophy. However, his is an improvement on the central weakness of philosophy historically in seeing humans as all of the same nature. Precious few philosophers are willing to take on the complexity of individual persons who engage with each other intersubjectively. It is ignoring individual subjective realities that is the primary cause of confusion and injustice.
