I have a long-standing complaint against other philosophy lecturers who assign readings to students but not materials to help them understand the readings. That’s my mission in life, to try to bridge that gap.

I like how you put that: the dichotomy of principles as tools of control or as tools of harmony. Some would say that the idea of control is a Western one, though not everyone outside the West is all about harmony.
