I like that idea of there being negative and positive technology. Even better is to think, as you say, that we should recognize the need for more solar energy. All fossil fuels are less-efficient solar energy. The only earth-based energy would be geothermal. We do need to transition to not only new ways of harnessing energy, but new ways of thinking about our place in the world.
