I wish I could bring in cultures beyond the Western canon, but I have to teach to the requirements. Within that, though, I have a lot of freedom, and I teach philosophy as history, as a reaction to historical events and previous philosophers. Most importantly, I show students how philosophy is a progression that leads to how we can think about our world today. Philosophy as embedded in our culture and practical for us.
