Your rant here is very wrong. I'm an expert who writes about justice issues like racism. I write only long, detailed articles, and my earnings are up since the change. Plus, my views are up, my claps are way up and my followers are WAY up. And I write about stuff supposedly no one cares about, not the pop spirituality one finds everywhere. Medium supports experts and diversity.
