I'm as staunch a proponent of not reducing individuals to group identities as anyone, as my articles demonstrate. But that doesn't mean that "identity politics" is always stupid. More importantly, we can't just label it stupid and dismiss it because like it or not, identity politics is deeply ingrained in human society and psyche. The issue is much more complex than you seem to be granting here.
