I'm curious if you have had anyone object to the terms. I'm fine with it, I don't see it as insulting, but I can imagine fragile people would. I'm in the camp of problematizing all biological racial designations as cultural inventions that serve to perpetuate existing power structures. That's while acknowledging the reality and importance of ethnic differences. You're correct though that all of this is bewildering and beset by conundrums. There are no easy answers, only the effortful journeys to each others' worlds and perspectives.
