I'm definitely a pragmatist in some ways, though I also draw on existentialism and phenomenology in my work in social philosophy. I've long been impressed by Dewey's instrumentalism.

You're definitely correct about philosophy's current problem and why.. I try to write about philosophy in ways to overcome that, but we can't make people care. We have to somehow overcome the noise.
