In the game of Scrabble, a player is presented with the input of the letters on the board and the letters in the player's possession. The player then gives a coherent response in the form of a meaningful word placed on the board. It is a validation of Searle's argument especially considering the other player and the audience could understand the coherent responses given by Richards even though he did not know the language.
