A number of researchers are working on finding ways to increase communications and understanding between different groups. My research and writings focus on recognition as a concept that once understood, can encourage and facilitate communication. It comes down to respect for others, or at least an openness to respecting others. You are correct about profit motive playing a big part in maintaining these social bubbles/silos. The corporations don’t create them as much as exploit them.
