My observation is descriptive not prescriptive. Acknowledging that all human societies have been patriarchal to some degree is not to say that they must be or always will be. There is nothing that suggests that society must be patriarchal, yet it has been up to now. The discussion we need to be engaged in is why it has always been that way and how to change that.
