Oh, Wow, I Had Forgotten My 2020 Prophesy That’s Now Come True
I’d rather have been wrong, but sadly, I wasn’t
I suddenly remembered an article I had written and published November 5, 2020 about that just concluded election. Seems so long ago, and yet so little has changed, really. What I said then is still true now.
I wrote the article back when I had only 165 followers on Medium and I was using Medium as a secondary platform for my content. Almost no one on Medium read it, and like I say, I’d forgotten about it. But it’s still there.
The article was entitled, “The US Has Found Something Worse Than Trump.” I argued that the Democratic Party’s election strategy hadn’t worked, that looking at the Congressional results, they actually lost the election despite Joe Biden eeking out a victory. I predicted that the Democrats would become complacent and that Joe Biden’s presidency would be feckless and lead to an even worse outcome.
God, I wish I’d been wrong. Perhaps if Biden’s DOJ had immediately gone after Trump for trying to overthrow the government on January 6th, perhaps if Biden had kept his 2020 promise to not run for re-election and allowed the party to have a proper primary process, perhaps if the Democratic Party had focused on producing for American working people instead of on getting…
