Sartre has been described as a “frustrated rationalist,” meaning that he wants everything to be perfectly ordered and rational, but it isn’t. Sartre couldn’t handle that. Someone else observed that Sartre was a frustrated theist who desperately wanted God to exist but could only accept the idea of God as he envisioned.
