I am not familiar with Wright’s book. The title was my immediate response to the statement “I realized all of my thoughts are illusions” which is a contradiction. David Hume also claimed there is no self or “I.” I don’t find his argument “we don’t perceive a self” as convincing. We must infer existence of some things even though we do not perceive them, as Kant said.
