Thank you, and yes, real freedom contradicts political libertarianism. Their main mistake is using a narrow definition negative freedoms and ignoring everything else.
On free will versus determinism: humans have free will, full stop. The way to solve the apparent contradiction with determinism is to understand that free will is also a natural force. Physical materialists today are repeating the mistake of ancient and medieval metaphysicians in assuming a necessary causal chain from the First Cause (Aristotle) or God (Thomas Aquinas). It is just that, an assumption. When we are more open-minded we can see clearly that in addition to other natural forces discussed by physics is the force of will. All of these forces are clearly manifest in the world as they interact and conflict. We humans never lose the capacity for free will but can frequently lack sufficient force to act on it, and even to not use our free will. We are always both affected by external forces and capable of using our force of will.
