Thank you for sharing your unique story. It is so interesting to me how much out particular childhood environment shapes out expectations. It matters so much whether parents take an active interest in educating their children. I don’t mean formally, I mean sharing things with them.

The prejudice of “civilization” or at least the trappings of it is quite common. Modernity is not without benefits, but its biggest drawback is that it causes people to focus on its trappings and promises of progress to the detriment of focusing on ourselves and our fellow people.
