Thank you for that excellent question. For awhile I've been contemplating how to put an answer to that question into words that would make sense to anyone else. Best I can say so far is that it was a combination of being a bullied outcast as a kid and being a nerdy thoughtful kid who wanted to understand why. But it was only in early adulthood when I read about philosophies critical of power hierarchies that I began to understand the importance of social injustices like stereotypes and objectification. As an outsider, I've always seen that the emperor has no clothes and I can to a very small degree at least, understand what oppressed people go through.
