Thank you for this excellent paper. The human conceit that we capture meaning with our words, definitions, and categorizations stands between us and truth. We must, as you say, tell stories with abstractions. We must acknowledge that there is a great deal of play (in the non-game sense) in our words--a great deal of latitude in what we mean and in how people will interpret anything we express.
