One clarification--though I avoid the word and concept of "evil," the far-Right is exactly that in its drive to silence and deprive others of power. I don't suggest we don't consider them "evil" but that we don't respond in kind. As I wrote, they aren't going to listen to anything we say, we can only counter their actions with alternative actions.

I consciously avoided a direct comparison of the American far-Right to similar movements in other countries. Other books have presented such comparisons better than I can. I want to emphasize the unique character of the US far-Right in its combination of Calvinism and the immigrant experience.
