Thank you for you comments and question. I definitely agree that the US makes it difficult for women to be both a mother and a professional. That's largely because the attitude that women should not be a professional still lingers. Parents should be partners and agree to share duties in a workable and equitable arrangement of who does what at home and who does what outside the home. And here's the important thing: at should not matter who does what tasks, the men or the women. Fathers can also stay home and care for the children. On a family business, I guess you mean working, running the business, from home. That is a luxury not everyone gets to have, but my spouse and I have both worked primarily from home for over 15 years and we very much enjoy it. Bottom line in my opinion is that couples need to be free to jointly and equally decide the life they want without social pressures to conform to restrictive ideological norms.
