Thanks for your question. I see the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation as a classic example of making evidence fit a preordained conclusion. The most they can say is that the CMBR is consistent with the big bang theory, but it is also consistent with the steady state or infinite universe theory. Here too, the assumption that red shift equals distance comes into play, in which the astrophysicists assume their preferred paradigm without adequately considering alternatives.
