I think the biggest benefit handed to the boomers was the economic boom of the 1950s and early 60s, and that was caused by the massive government spending. No, boomers didn’t directly receive the benefits, but their parents did and the boomers grew up with a greater sense of plenty than any other generation before or since.

On the free healthcare: back in the early days it was free for veterans and it was free in early Medicare.
