That there are different definitions of “real” is true, but you are conflating what is real with what is true. The movie is metaphysically real but its content is not necessarily true. That our thoughts contribute to the reality of our self is proven continually by every person because their reactions change them. Certainly our sphere of influence includes ourselves.
