That’s one area in which Aristotle’s theory is vague if not falls short. Is the only purpose of an organism to reproduce itself? It would seem from all that Aristotle said, that is what all non-human organisms have as their final cause. Yes, that is Dawkins’s theory as well — in some respects science has not advanced since the ancient Greeks.
