The concept of a white race is a 19th century invention, but for Plato, Aristotle, and others, the distinction was between Greek and barbarians, so a similar moral division of exclusion.

When I teach Aristotle, I include his classist views of social division. His racism is a subset of his class division, I think the clearest expression of his bigotry is him saying that some people are born to be slaves as is evidenced by the fact that they are slaves. A circular reasoning unbecoming of someone supposedly the founder of logic.
