True, but let's not lay the blame on Christianity. Like every other male-dominated social institution, it expresses the patriarchal paradigm. As Mary Daly extensively wrote, the problem is not religion per so, but the foundational language of patriarchy that permeates all of culture. Patriarchal language is the harmful messenger. There are many Gothard's in the world, few of them Christians.
