I think one problem that you touch upon is attempts at revisionist history. Demanding that we rewrite a 1800s novel to include POC doesn’t solve discrimination. If a novel is, for example, racist, don’t suppress it, talk about the racism. The answer to bad speech is more speech, not censorship. Let’s talk about the occurrences of N-words and B-words and so on. I’d say, though, that for every pseudo-Lefty who wants to ban a book because it is too white/male/straight/whatever, there are many times more Right-wingers who want to ban a book because is too much the other way. Look at To Kill a Mockingbird.
