While a revolt of sorts may be in the offing in the US, the French Revolution is a poor analogy. For one, the oppression in the US is of a very different character than the Absolutism of 1700s France. Two, the revolutionaries in France were powered not simply by a demand for better treatment but by the philosophy of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, partiuclrrly is hatred for social convention and his concept of the general Will. It was Rousseau's idea that fuealed teh Riegh of Terror that you quite correctly point out lead to disaster. Int he US, such levels of hatred exist but are coming form a different quarter and directed at a different target. If you do some research on the period leading up tot he French Revolution, you'll come to a difefrent understanding.
