With her idea of life-feelings she means more than attitude. She is rejecting the anti-human notion that we are fully conditioned. Yes, we can change our attitude, but she isn’t talking about an Epicurean or Stoic notion of we can change only our attitude and must otherwise remain passive observers to what reality does to us. The idea of life-feelings is that our choices are also causes that change who we are and those choices are in a synergy — we choose to change, it changes us, and that effects our choices, and our life-feelings change. So, it’s a dynamic based on how much freedom we choose to claim. Obviously, not all choices are totally free and easy, but we can move continually toward freer and easier choices.
