With respect, how is this MHC anything other than an overcomplicated way of saying some people think more deeply than others? I must say that I am on principle opposed to any systematic reduction of individuality to abstract categorization.

I agree with you that there are no simple solutions. The solution to fear and oppression is to engage in the difficult ongoing work of putting aside self-centered desires, being willing to be wrong, and above all, recognize that we share the world with other people. And be principled in our politics.
