Yes, and it was good of them to have corrected that but now they have swung the pendulum too far the other way. I have told in no uncertain words by two upper management people in Medium that under their current criteria that philosophy articles are not considered high-quality. To accommodate the fiction and poetry writers, their Boost criteria now emphasizes more emotional subject matter that connects with a reader's emotional responses. They also, as I mentioned earlier, want to see simple writing with short paragraphs and lots of pictures.

So now the bias is heavily against any serious, challenging content. I certainly don't know everything about Medium's internal statistics, but within a particular subject matter, it is possible to get a firm sense of what is Boosted and what is not. Not just my nomination statistics but watching the feed archive, https://medium.com/tag/philosophy/archive, shows that for the past two months, Medium has Boosted VERY few philosophy articles, and those they do Boost are almost accidental, as in those articles are more about other subjects than philosophy.

I've been on Medium since 2019, but only seriously int he past two years. I do hope they eventually figure out a balance in their Boost program that accommodates all subject areas. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and I wish you well.
