You inadvertently identified the problem. Science is a method. That means two things. One, like any and all methods, it works better in some instances than others. We don’t have only one tool in our toolbox and we don’t have only one method for attaining knowledge. Two, a method is only valuable if it is used correctly in service of a higher purpose. Being enamored with a method is losing proper perspective. Scientism is a loss of perspective: ignoring goals and purposes and being infatuated with a method as an answer to everything. Scientism is an air ball (basketball term).
